Anomaly Lockdown Escape to Surface via Gate B
LCZ to HCZ to EZ Gate B to the Surface Escape Zone, including cards, 914, cuffs, and 05 Rescue.
Escaping Anomaly Lockdown is a route, not a vibe. You leave Light Containment, cross two Heavy Containment sectors, reach Entrance Zone Gate B, ride up to Surface, and stand on the Surface Escape Zone until the prompt finishes — about one second. That pad sits in the Gate B area. Other Surface landmarks (warhead terminal, 636, Gate A hangar) are not the exit. If you learned the clock in Getting Started and the door levels in Map Zones, this page is the line you run.
Who is allowed to leave
Escape-capable roles can walk onto the pad by default. Class-D and scientists are the usual runners in Containment Breach. Everyone else needs handcuffs first. A cuffed MTF, guard, or Chaos operative becomes an escort problem and an escape ticket. H surrenders so the other side can actually apply those cuffs; the bind is on Controls. Scientists are worth more faction points than a standard Class-D when they leave, which is why Foundation escorts them and why Chaos bags them. If you are a scientist, you are not loot. You are the next wave table.
Do not confuse “I reached Surface” with “I escaped.” The warhead terminal is Level 5 and will not extract you. Gate A is a hangar and a rare Chaos spawn, not the pad. Gate C is another Level 4 door. Gate B is the one that feeds the Escape Zone.
Light Containment: card, closet, 914
Class-D start in LCZ cells. Scientists start in LCZ as Facility Personnel (up to five). The first minute is neutral — nobody can harm you, and SCPs have not spawned yet. Leave the cell. Hit the closet and Medical Bay. You need a Level 1 card at minimum. Light Armory is Level 4 and is a detour unless you already upgraded. SCP storage is optional.
SCP-914 is Level 1 and always in LCZ. Fine is locked. Feed it the Level 1 card until you have Level 2, 3, 4, then Level 5 or Omni. Feed it a primary if you want AA12 or M249 for the hallways you still have to survive. Vitamins to medkit to SCP-500 is the heal line. Full recipes are on the SCP-914 tool. One or two cycles is an escape plan. Five cycles is how you are still in LCZ at 18:35 when up to five SCPs (or eight in 05 Rescue) appear in Heavy Containment.
Keycard ranks you will actually use: Level 1 opens 914. Level 3 opens EZ checkpoints. Level 4 opens Light Armory, HCZ armory, Gates A/B/C, Electrical Center (after 15:00), and the Hacking Device’s equivalent doors. Level 5 opens O5 and the Surface warhead terminal. Omni covers the card ladder. Site Manager is a Level 4-rank card that can roll if Electrical Center generated (Site Manager player chance is 33% in that case). You do not need Omni to escape. You need Gate B, which is Level 4, or you need the 5:00 forced-open on EZ gates if you are late and lucky.
Heavy Containment: two sectors, then leave
LCZ feeds HCZ through checkpoints and elevators. Heavy Containment is two generated sectors with a sector transporter between them. SCPs spawn here at 18:35. That is the most common place a runner dies, not Gate B. You are not here to clear 008, 966, 249, the catwalk, or O5. You are here to find the elevator or checkpoint that continues toward Entrance Zone. If you have Level 4, the HCZ armory is a legal stop for a gun. If you hear 939, stop sprinting. If you see 173, do not blink as a group. If you glimpse 096’s face, you are no longer an escape run; you are a timer. Per-anomaly rules are on How to Survive.
O5 is Level 5 and is not on the escape critical path. 008 is an infection room, not a shortcut. 966 is why N exists. The sector transporter is how you skip a dead-end generation. Use it. Do not tour both sectors because the SCP tier list said a designation was interesting.
Entrance Zone, Gate B, Surface pad
EZ armory is Level 3 and is where Security spawned (one lieutenant, up to three guards). Checkpoints are Level 3. Gates A, B, and C are Level 4. You want B. A is the hangar with rare Chaos. C is a third door that eats time. Electrical Center is Level 4 after 15:00 and is a power objective, not an exit.
Once Gate B opens, you are not done. Surface is the only fixed zone. Move to the Escape Zone in the Gate B area and hold the prompt for about one second. If you are not an escape role, you should already be cuffed. If the pad does nothing, you are the wrong role or you are standing on the wrong concrete. Look at Gate B’s pad, not the warhead bunker.
Watch the clock while you run this last stretch. Reinforcements hit 15:00, 12:00, 8:00, and 4:00. The warhead can arm after 7:00 from the Surface Level 5 terminal and auto-arms after 4:00. Ninety seconds later everything below Surface is gone. At 5:00 EZ gates force open, which can save a Level 3 runner. At 3:00 outlines appear (red hostile, white neutral, green friendly), so stealth at the pad becomes a joke. Kills after 3:00 add 15 seconds; a firefight on the pad can stall the nuke and also stall your prompt. If you want the warhead as cover, be on Surface before the siren, not in the Gate B stairwell.
05 Rescue differences
Vote 05 Rescue and the LCZ cast changes. Up to five O5 members spawn in Light Containment instead of ordinary scientists. Class-D breachers come pre-kitted, but their cell doors wait until 18:30 — almost the same beat as the SCP drop at 18:35. Red Right Hand deploys at round start with a commando, and Security still holds the EZ armory. SCPs cap at eight, not five. The escape geometry does not move: LCZ to HCZ to EZ Gate B to the Surface Escape Zone. What moves is who is allowed to be an O5-shaped runner, who is a delayed armed Class-D, and how many anomalies are hunting the same elevators.
O5 members are still Facility Personnel for the purpose of this route, and they are still high-value leavers. Class-D breachers can fight instead of loot-and-run, but the pad still wants an escape role or cuffs. Red Right Hand and Security are Foundation-side pressure, not a second Gate B. If you are an O5, treat 914 as a card factory and leave before eight SCPs finish spawning. If you are a breacher, you spawn late into a map that already has guns in EZ and anomalies in HCZ; you either punch a hole toward Gate B or you stop pretending this is a standard D-boi loot circuit.
If you spawned as an SCP, this is not your page — switch to How to Play SCP and cut the same elevators from the other side. Foundation players who want to stop this route should hold EZ checkpoints and Gate B, not camp LCZ cells after the neutral minute. Chaos and GRU-P who want to steal it should cuff scientists and O5 members instead of executing them. SCPs who want to stop it should cut the sector transporter and the Gate B elevator, not wander Surface. Role kits for those sides are on Foundation, Class-D and Chaos, and SCPs. The Guides Hub links survival and map pages if the route keeps dying in the same room.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Where is the Anomaly Lockdown escape zone?
The Surface Escape Zone in the Gate B area. The prompt takes about one second. Gate A, Gate C, and the warhead terminal are not the exit.
Do I need Omni to escape?
No. Gate B is Level 4. Omni and Level 5 help with O5 and the warhead, not with the pad. At 5:00, EZ gates also force open. Door list: map zones.
Who needs handcuffs to escape?
Escape roles (typically Class-D and scientists, plus O5 members in 05 Rescue) can leave by default. Other roles must be cuffed first. Surrender with H, listed on controls.
How does 05 Rescue change the escape?
O5 members spawn in LCZ, Class-D breachers are delayed until 18:30, Red Right Hand starts on the board, and up to eight SCPs spawn. The Gate B pad does not move.
Should I stay at 914 until I have Level 5?
Usually no. Upgrade enough to open checkpoints and Gate B, then leave before 18:35. Recipes are on SCP-914. Dying in Intake is not an escape.
